How do I download Respondus Lockdown Browser (PC/Mac)?

Respondus Lockdown Browser is a tool used by many instructors at CCBC to securely administer tests. Once it is downloaded onto your PC or Mac, you should be able to use it to access any assessments or assignments that require it. Note that the instructions below for downloading Respondus Lockdown Browser DO NOT work for Chromebooks or mobile devices.

Please bear in mind that Respondus Lockdown Browser downloads are unique to each institution. Downloading Respondus Lockdown Browser from a link other than the one in the instructions document below may result in the software not working.

1. Go to the CCBC Blackboard webpage. It can be reached using the link provided or by going to the CCBC homepage (, hovering over the “MyCCBC” menu in the upper right-hand corner, and clicking on “Blackboard.”

2. Use your CCBC username and password to sign in. If you do not know your CCBC username and/or password, please reference this article: What is my username and password for my CCBC email? (Students)

3. Once you login, you will be taken to the main Blackboard webpage. Click on the “Student Information” tab.

4. Click the “Student Resources” tab. It should be on the line of tabs below the one that “Student Information” was on.

5. On the right-hand side of the screen, in the block labeled “Respondus Lockdown Browser,” you will find a link to a document containing instructions on how to download the latest version of Respondus Lockdown Browser for your CCBC class.

If you are experiencing difficulties downloading or using Respondus Lockdown Browser, please open a ticket using the link at the top of the screen that says “Submit A Ticket.”
