Steps to Configure Password Recovery

To use the reset portal, User must configure their recovery methods so that you can reset your password at a later date and time.

Have the user,

This step must be completed before you attempt to change your password.

  • There are four recovery methods available
  • Office Phone
  • Cell Phone
  • Alternate email address
  • Security questions
Note: Office phone is the number currently entered into the CCBC system. If it is missing or incorrect, please update your personal information in SIMON.
  • If the office phone is correct, They must configure at least two additional methods. If their office phone is incorrect or missing, they must configure the three remaining methods.
  • When the user have completed their recovery methods, click FINISH

If the recovery methods have not been configured, then they may also be prompted to fill out their recovery methods when they will sign into Skype for Business.

Changing Your Recovery Methods

Steps to edit recovery methods after the initial setup

  • Change or edit the recovery methods

NOTE: Office phone is the number currently entered into the CCBC system. If it is missing or incorrect, suggest them to update their personal information in SIMON.

  • If the phone number is missing, ask them to configure the three remaining methods. Once they configured at least two authentication methods, click LOOKS GOOD

Steps to Change the Password Using the Web

  • Open a browser and go to https://portal.office.com and log in using your CCBC email address and password
  • Click the gear icon in the upper right side of your browser window.

  • Click Password

  • Type your current/old password, then type your new password twice. Click Submit.

  • Reboot your PC to allow Microsoft applications to process the password change.
  • When you reboot your computer, you also will be required to enter your new credentials in Skype for Business.

Steps to Change the Password by using CCBC Computer While Connected to the CCBC Network

  • Press Ctrl-Alt-Del
  • Click Change a password.

  • Type in your current/old password. Type your new password twice and click submit.

  • Reboot your PC to allow Microsoft applications to process the password change.
  • When you reboot your computer, you also will be required to enter your new credentials in Skype for Business.

Steps to Recover the Password

1. Access Password Reset Page

  • Open a browser and go to https://portal.office.com. If you’ve never signed into Office 365 with the browser you are using, skip to step 2. (Access Password Reset page from a New Browser)
  • Click your username and click Forgot my password.

  • Enter the characters you see and click Next.

  • You are required to complete two of the available recovery methods.
  • Proceed to step (Reset Password)

2. Access Password Reset page from a New Browser

  • If you’ve never signed into Office 365 with the browser you are using, click the Can’t access your account? link.

  • Type your CCBC email address in the User ID box. Enter the characters you see and click Next.

  • You are required to complete two of the  available recovery methods.

3. Reset Password

  • Once you’ve verified your identity using two verification methods, type in your new password twice and click FINISH.

  • Once your password is set successfully, you’ll receive the following message and can now use your new password to sign into CCBC computers and applications.

  • Reboot your PC to allow Microsoft applications to process the password change. When you reboot your computer, you also will be required to enter your new credentials in Skype for Business.
