Student Account Access Resources

Need help retrieving your CCBC username and/or password?  Have questions about how to setup your password recovery settings and Multi-Factor Authentication?  You’ve come to the right place!

Below you will find information and instructions for students, whether you are new, current or returning, on how to retrieve your username and password and access student resources at the college.  Click on a section title to expand and view the information.

**Read all of the instructions in this section before following the link in Step 1.  The link will open a new tab so that you can come back to this site after you have completed this section.**

  1. Go to CCBC’s Account Recovery page: https://shwa.ccbcmd.edu
  2. On the Recover your CCBC Login Information page, you will be asked to provide two pieces of information from a list of four options.  Whichever options you choose, CCBC must have that information on file in order to identify and retrieve your information.
  3. Choose two of the four options and enter the information.  The options include:
    1. CCBC Number (This is a 9 digit number starting with either 900 or 901)
    2. Date of Birth
    3. Home Email address (you must have provided CCBC with this information previously)
    4. Last 4 numbers of your SSN

  1. Your CCBC username, CCBC ID number and email address will appear on the screen. Your username will consist of the first two-three letters of your last name and last six-seven numbers of your CCBC ID number.
  2. To change your password, follow the instructions under Set Password or Change Password.
  3. Once you have submitted your password, click on the button that says Logout now & continue to myCCBC.  This will take you to the login page for myCCBC (https://myccbc.ccbcmd.edu/).  This is where you will set up your required password recovery settings and multi-factor authentication.

  1. If you are not already on the myCCBC login page, you can go directly to the myCCBC website (https://myccbc.ccbcmd.edu/) or from any page on the CCBC website (https://www.ccbcmd.edu/), select myCCBC in the upper right corner.
  2. When you log in for the first time, you will be asked to set up your password recovery settings and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
    1. Security Questions are required and everyone must setup 5 questions & answers.
    2. At least one additional recovery option must be setup.  Those additional options are:
      1. Alternative Email – this should be a non-CCBC email address to receive a verification code
      2. Phone Number – this should be a cell phone number that is able to receive a verification code via text message
      3. Authenticator – this allows you to connect Google Authenticator or other available authenticator app to your account to utilize a verification code.

If you are having trouble logging into your account, call the CCBC IT Helpdesk at 443-840-HELP(4357).

NOTE: The first time you access myCCBC, you will be asked to select from a list of possible interests (academics, career, important dates and deadlines, and student life) to receive notifications in these areas.

  1. You can go directly to the myCCBC website (https://myccbc.ccbcmd.edu/) or from any page on the CCBC website (https://www.ccbcmd.edu/), select myCCBC in the upper right corner.
  2. You will need to:
    1. provide your username
    2. password and
    3. complete an additional verification step using one of the methods you setup previously

You will be able to access additional CCBC Resources directly from myCCBC.  These resources include:

Brightspace/Online Learning: This is the online classroom (aka Brightspace). If you are taking online classes, you will be using this all the time, but many instructors for on-campus courses use it too!

Degree Audit/DegreeWorks: Want to know what you have taken, and how it applies to your degree, and how many courses you still need to take to finish? Take a look at your degree audit!

Student Email/Office 365: You will not be able to access your student email until you are registered for classes, but it is important to check this regularly when you are attending CCBC.

Building Lookup: See the names for all of the buildings and links to campus maps.

QuickReg: This tool is mainly used for registering for Continuing Education courses.  For Credit courses, students should use SIMON for registration unless specifically advised otherwise.

SIMON/Online Self-Services: Use SIMON Online Services to view your financial aid and your bill, register for credit classes, update your personal information, and more!

New or Returning Student?

New and Returning students will need to retrieve their username and password using the student account recovery page – SHWA – which can be accessed here: https://shwa.ccbcmd.edu

Forgot your password?

If you have already setup your password recovery and multi-factor authentication steps AND you know your CCBC username, you can recover your CCBC password from the myCCBC login portal.

After following the steps to get to the myCCBC login page and clicking on Forgot Password, you will be prompted to provide the following:

  1. CCBC Username
  2. Answer 2 of the 5 security questions (answers are case sensitive and require that you type them in exactly as you created them)

You will then be able to create a new password.

If you have already setup your password recovery and multi-factor authentication steps, including adding a secondary email address to your account, you can recover your CCBC username from the myCCBC login portal.

After following the steps to get to the myCCBC login page and clicking on Forgot Username, you will be prompted to provide the following:

  1. an email address on file – this is the secondary email address that you provided during the password recovery setup.
  2. Answer 2 of the 5 security questions (answers are case sensitive and require that you type them in exactly as you created them)

You will then be provided with your CCBC username.
